We love successful cases, real happy endings, that we could be part of.
One of those recent won cases was Emma R., a 36 year old woman, who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (previously referred to as multiple personalities). Emma was exposed to extreme sexual trauma as a
Child and into adulthood. Those horrifying experiences led to development of her psychical disorder.
Our Law Practice’s role was to assist her along the way and obtain help she deserves. The Social Security Judge was very skeptical at first, questioning Emma’s mental disability. We were able to take testimony from her mental health therapist. Having a supportive medical provider often makes the difference between winning and losing. Having one who is willing to testify is rare, but surely provides very valuable credibility to the case and we made that happen!
She currently lives in a women’s shelter and is getting intense therapy to overcome her pain.
We were thrilled to be able to help this woman in her journey to healing and hope.
